So yeah, I've decided that since I usually have a million ideas of how I would've booked our fed at different points, why not chronicle them here? I'll be going in no particular order, just when a particular time period strikes my fancy. And no, there will be no attempt to link one period to another, these will all be stand alone and exist in their own little pocket universes. The first installment: the post-WrestleMania period of 2011 Starting point: April 2011 Ending point: Not sure, whenever I run out of ideas This will cover all three brands from the draft onwards. I may do a month by month format with a basic outline, because booking show by show seems pretty daunting. I'm not going to bind myself by which characters were active when, who was writing who, when people left, because that would get tedious. It's my world, I do what I want! So, to get this started, I will present the rosters at the conclusion of the Supplemental Draft: RawRaw General Manager: Raquel Guerrero Big Show Bryan Danielson Chris Hero Claudio Castagnoli Epico Ezekiel Jackson The Great Khali Heath Slater James Gibson (Jamie Noble) John Cena Justin Gabriel Kevin Nash The Miz Mr. Harris Primo Richie Steamboat Rey Mysterio Sakamoto Santino Marella Skip Sheffield TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd) Trent Barreta Tyler Black Wade Barrett AJ Lee Beth Phoenix Eve Torres Kaitlyn Tamina Aksana Matt Striker Melina Ranjin Singh Jim Ross Mick Foley Tony Chimel Smackdown!Smackdown! No clue why the formatting of the roster was screwed up before...
So what I'll do is post an overview of major happenings on each brand, then end with the month's PPV.
April
Raw
Ezekiel Jackson and Randy Orton are the two frontrunners for a shot at the WWE Championship come Vengeance. For much of April, they find themselves in matches with each other, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, Money in the Bank holder Goldust, and others. By the end of the month, the two will meet in a number one contenders match, on the last Raw prior to Backlash.
Television Champion Heath Slater debuts a new manager, former announcer Jack Korpela, as well as a new bodyguard in Erick Rowan. They're not Layla, but they make a formidable fighting force. Contenders for the Television Championship include Santino Marella, Tyler Black, Booker T, Ted DiBiase, Lance Hoyt, and Curt Hawkins. Slater will contend with all six in singles and tag team competition, usually winning the singles encounters thanks to Rowan and Korpela, but dropping falls in the tag team bouts. At the end of the month, Slater will be set to defend the title against Booker T, while Santino, DiBiase, and Hoyt prepare to meet in a triple threat to decide the challenger at Vengeance.
In the Cruiserweight ranks, Justin Gabriel works his way up the ranks in hopes of earning another shot at the gold, following a valiant effort at WrestleMania. With the likes of Rey Mysterio, Evan Bourne, and Yoshi Tatsu not offering much competition, El Hombre Obscuro is the only other serious contender for the Championship. With Gabriel slotted to face Morrison at the end of the month, Obscuro appears to be a shoe-in for the title shot at Vengeance.
With the Tag Team Champions spending most of their time on Smackdown and NXT, Raw's tandems spend most of April fighting to earn the coveted Vengeance title shot. As the chase heats up, many of the teams spin off into separate rivalries:
The Usos join forces with Ezekiel Jackson to form the stable Domination, and enter a feud with Goldust and John Cena. The returning Kevin Nash joins up with Rey Mysterio, as the two begin a rivalry with The Fighters of Honor. This leaves the path clear for The Smooth Criminals to make a case for why they should get the next title shot.
Smackdown
With no guarantee of a World Championship match before The Great American Bash, the main event scene on Smackdown centers on The McMahon Administration's attempts to usurp Teddy Long's power as General Manager. The Undertaker and Vince McMahon are set to meet on the Smackdown prior to Backlash, with Dylan McMahon training his father in the weeks leading up to said match.
Intercontinental Champion Bryan Danielson, revealed to be the father of Melina's baby, finds himself with no clear contenders. Christian, Cody Rhodes, Sheamus, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Charlie Haas, and Dolph Ziggler all compete in various matches, but none emerge as the obvious number one contender. Danielson therefore issues an open challenge, with any and all comers welcome to face him.
Chris Masters, on the other hand, finds himself dealing with Derrick Bateman, who was part of the triple threat match at WrestleMania, and Jackson Andrews, hoping to gain favor with Mr. McMahon. Andrews is easily dispatched, but Bateman quickly asserts himself as the top challenger for Masters' first defense of the gold.
The tag team division is turned upside down by the sudden retirement of Edge, just two weeks before Backlash. With the Championship in question, the action on Smackdown intensifies, as Jinder Mahal and The Miz, Alberto Del Rio y Ricardo Rodriguez, Primo and Epico, and the makeshift pairing of Arion and Tyler Reks all fight to be the top tandem on Smackdown.
NXT
Chris Jericho, Colt Cabana, Natalya, Mr. Harris, CM Punk, and The Big Show all find themselves in the running to be Drew McIntyre's first challenger at Backlash. Punk finds himself eliminated from the hunt soon enough due to his obligations as United States Champion. After Michael Cole announces the number one contenders match on Piper's Pit, it's The Big Show who emerges as the number one contender. In the run up to the title match, Show dominates McIntyre, including a victory over him in a six man tag, then Chokeslamming him through the announcers' table.
Jericho and Natalya engage in a friendly rivalry, leading to Jericho challenging her to a match at Backlash, which The Queen of Harts accepts. Meanwhile, Mr. Harris goes on a tear, ripping through much of NXT's undercard, making a statement that he won't be left out for very long.
Cabana, long-touted as the future of Nexus, quickly realigns with William Regal and Trent Barreta, and adding Vladimir Kozlov to the retooled stable. The group comes into conflict with Xavier Woods, setting up a singles match between Cabana and Woods at Backlash. As well, Barreta is matched up against Johnny Curtis for the PPV.
Isis and Richie Steamboat both issue challenges to CM Punk, who does his best to avoid both. When a contenders match is made, Punk costs Isis the match, ensuring the young Steamboat his second shot at gold in as many months. Wade Barrett also reemerges as a legitimate contender during this time.
With a vacant Women's Championship being sent to NXT, an eight woman tournament is held to crown the first Champion. Maryse, the former Champion, is outraged at being left out, but Michael Cole claims it's time for new blood in the women's division. Michelle McCool and Layla form an alliance, which helps get Layla all the way to the finals, where Tamina awaits her at Backlash. As well, the remaining women will meet in the annual Cash in the Vault match, but again Maryse is left out. Cole does book her on the Backlash card, however, against Raquel Guerrero, who LayCool quickly take under their wing, in the latter's first ever WWE match.
The South Beach Connection(Darren Young and Percy Watson) and Radio America are the top two contenders for the World Tag Team Championship, with Radio America getting the nod. But Edge's sudden retirement leads to questions over the fate of the match and the titles. Meanwhile, upstart team Joe Hennig and Brett DiBiase come into conflict with Young and Watson, setting up another match at Backlash.

May
Raw
Ezekiel Jackson emerges as the number one contender for the WWE Championship at Vengeance. McIntyre enlists Goldust and John Cena to help him combat The Usos, combining both feuds.
With Randy Orton's title hopes temporarily on hold, The Viper begins a feud with Skip Sheffield, after Skip pays off a referee to fast-count Orton during a match. A rematch is lined up for Vengeance, with General Manager Jerry Lawler naming himself the special guest referee.
Heath Slater retains his title over Booker T, while Santino Marella overcomes DiBiase and Hoyt to become the number one contender at Vengeance. Hoyt moves onto a feud with Tyler Black, which sees him side with Nash and Mysterio to battle the Fighters of Honor in a six man tag at Vengeance.
Morrison defeats Justin Gabriel, but El Hombre Obscuro awaits the Shaman of Sexy at Vengeance. Gabriel, meanwhile, finds himself in a rivalry with Caylen Croft, who is also inducted as the newest member of the Smooth Criminals.
The Smooth Criminals, now a trio, win a four way match to become the number one contenders for the Tag Team Championship at Vengeance. Meanwhile, Ted DiBiase and Curt Hawkins, having failed to earn a TV Title shot, decide to join forces as a tag team.
Smackdown
Mr. McMahon picks up a shocking win over The Undertaker, thanks to the newest member of The McMahon Administration, Mark Henry. The Undertaker vows revenge on The World's Strongest Man.
Cody Rhodes is the man to accept Bryan Danielson's open challenge and defeats The American Dragon to regain the gold. Christian soon emerges from the glut of challengers as the number one contender, and all signs point at King of the Ring as the meeting place for their battle. Cody enlists Kane as a second bodyguard, alongside The Great Khali, stacking the odds against Captain Charisma.
Chris Masters overcomes Derrick Bateman, but drops the belt to Tyler Reks soon after. Reks quickly engages in a feud with The Miz, hooking up with Miz's ex-girlfriend, Kaitlyn along the way. Reks' occasional tag team partner, Arion, finds himself at odds with Miz's ally, Jinder Mahal in a side feud.
David Hart announces that Chris Masters will be his new tag team partner and the two spend most of the month on Raw following Masters' Hardcore Championship loss. Charlie Haas and Dolph Ziggler join forces as a tag team in the style of The World's Greatest Tag Team, and quickly climb up the ranks, a title shot at King of the Ring seemingly assured. At the same time, Alberto Del Rio y Ricardo Rodriguez begin feuding with The Latin Kings(Primo and Epico) in a brutal battle between two Latino tag teams.
NXT
With the WWE Champion preoccupied on Raw for the month, the top storyline on NXT becomes the top stars chasing the gold.
Chris Jericho's rivalry with Natalya, at first friendly, takes a new level when Jericho learns that Natalya was hurt at Backlash. Jericho blames himself and his performance suffers because of this. Meanwhile, CM Punk seeks revenge on Isis for costing him the United States Championship. The rivalry escalates to the point that a hair vs. hair match is announced towards the end of the month. Mr. Harris targets Big Show, looking to prove why he should've gotten the Backlash title shot instead.
Richie Steamboat is quickly targeted by Nexus, with both Cabana and Barreta attempting to capture the gold. A title match between Richie and Cabana is set for the end of the month, with Richie outnumbered 4-1 by Nexus. Meanwhile, Wade Barrett continues his resurgence, looking towards an eventual title shot. Johnny Curtis becomes the Storyteller, a gimmick which earns him acclaim and helps his stock rise. Brett DiBiase, now with a renewed meanstreak, also begins climbing the ranks.
Gail Kim looks to bring the Women's Championship into the Nexus fold, targeting Layla, who also faces challenges from Kelly Kelly and AJ Lee. A number one contenders match towards the end of the month is expected to clear up who the number one contender really is. Meanwhile, Tamina seeks revenge on Maryse, but faces a major roadblock in the form of Kharma. And Raquel Guerrero undergoes "initiation" by LayCool, finding herself on the receiving end of several beatings intended for her mentors.
Radio America starts to break apart following their loss at Backlash. Swagger blames Ryder for being pinned by "a cripple", while Ryder calls Swagger a "brainless musclehead" for not making the save. In a twist, Ryder's girlfriend, Brie Bella, sides with Swagger, while Swagger's confidant, Eve Torres, takes Ryder's side. Regal and Kozlov represent The Nexus in an attempt to get in contention for the Tag Team Championship.
Vengeance The Fighters of Honor def. Kevin Nash, Rey Mysterio, and Lance Hoyt Santino Marella def. Heath Slater to win the Television Championship The Usos def. Goldust and John Cena John Morrison def. El Hombre Obscuro to retain the Cruiserweight Championship Skip Sheffield def. Orton defeats Lance Hoyt to qualify, but is attacked by Skip Sheffield afterwards. Lawler announces that Skip has already qualified for the tournament, by way of a $50,000 payoff.
Goldust earns Raw's remaining King of the Ring spot by defeating Ezekiel Jackson.
Santino Marella and John Morrison, Raw's Champions, find themselves paired up in tag team matches against potential challengers, including G-$hadow and Caylen Croft, Ted DiBiase and Curt Hawkins, and Lance Hoyt and El Hombre Obscuro, who end up defeating the Champions to earn title shots. Hoyt vs. Marella is scheduled for King of the Ring, while the Cruiserweight title rematch is set for the go-home Raw.
The Usos earn a Tag Team Title match at King of the Ring by winning a Tag Team Turmoil match. Justin Gabriel joins the Hawkins/DiBiase alliance, christening themselves The Legacy. The three continue to feud with The Smooth Criminals in singles and tag team matches. Nash and Mysterio end their feud with The Fighters of Honor with a clean victory on Raw.

Bryan Danielson is the second Smackdown Superstar to qualify for King of the Ring, defeating Kofi Kingston to earn his spot. The third spot goes to Derrick Bateman, who upsets The Miz, thanks to a distraction by Tyler Reks.
Christian and Cody Rhodes prepare for their King of the Ring encounter, meeting in tag team matches, as well as Christian facing off against both The Great Khali and Kane in warm-up bouts.
Following Tyler Reks' interference in the King of the Ring qualifier, The Miz challenges him to defend the Hardcore Championship on the go-home edition of Smackdown.
Del Rio y Rodriguez win their feud with The Latin Kings, then move on to battle Ziggler and Haas, both teams looking to catch Teddy Long's attention before The Great American Bash.
NXT
Although Isis defeats Punk, forcing him to shave his head, COO Triple H still names Punk the number one contender for Drew McIntyre's Championship at King of the Ring.
In NXT's two King of the Ring Qualifiers, Big Show defeats Mr. Harris, and Colt Cabana defeats Chris Jericho.
Natalya tells Jericho she doesn't blame him for her injury, which seems to help Jericho regain his spirit somewhat. The two begin teaming up, entering a short feud with The South Beach Connection, and a match is set for the go-home NXT.
Trent Barreta wins a battle royal, earning a United States title shot at King of the Ring vs. Richie Steamboat. The tensions between Jack Swagger and Zack Ryder lead to a match between the two, which Swagger wins, dissolving Radio America. Brett DiBiase singles out Michael Cole, accusing the General Manager of holding him back. Johnny Curtis continues to climb the ranks, looking at a future United States Championship match with his momentum.
Kelly Kelly ends up earning a shot at the Women's Championship, but is defeated by Layla. As well, Tamina defeats Maryse, only to find herself face-to-face with Kharma, who leaves her flat on the mat. LayCool continue to use Raquel as a human shield to ward off potential challengers.

FYI, I'm not sure I actually wanted Orton to win the King of the Ring. But Cabana, Mahal, and Danielson would've all been heel vs. heel matches. All this really means is what I would've done with Orton at SummerSlam gets pushed back a month to No Mercy.

July
Raw
In a rare staff note, Byron Saxton and Matt Striker are replaced at the commentary table by CM Punk and Booker T. We'll get to Saxton and Striker soon...
King of the Ring winner Randy Orton calls out Jerry Lawler and Skip Sheffield, demanding a fair match with Skip. To sweeten the pot, Orton agrees to forfeit his SummerSlam Championship match if he loses. Drew McIntyre confronts Orton over this, calling him an idiot for potentially throwing his big chance away. The Orton/Sheffield match is scheduled for the Raw before The Great American Bash. Meanwhile, Money in the Bank winner Goldust plays mind games with the new Champion, CM Punk.
Tyler Black, Lance Hoyt, and Kevin Nash all make bids for the Intercontinental Championship, with Nash earning a title shot at the end of the month vs. Santino Marella.
In the Cruiserweight Division, John Morrison, who retained against El Hombre Obscuro before King of the Ring, faces challenges from Byron Saxton, Justin Gabriel, Caylen Croft, and Heath Slater. Gabriel, with the help of The Legacy's new manager, Matt Striker, wins a fatal four-way match to earn the title shot at the end of the month.
The Legacy, with Matt Striker in their corner, win their feud with The Smooth Criminals, before moving on to the reunited Lance Hoyt and unmasked Low Ki. The Criminals engage in a rivalry with The Usos, while The Fighters of Honor fight to get into the mix.
Smackdown
Coming off of King of the Ring, Teddy Long has many challengers to consider for CM Punk's WWE World Heavyweight Championship. First is Bryan Danielson, who made it all the way to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament before losing to Randy Orton. Also Jinder Mahal and The Undertaker, who have been feuding. On the Smackdown after King of the Ring, Punk and Danielson meet in the main event, with the WWE Champion coming out the winner. The Undertaker is victorious over Jinder Mahal in a number one contenders match, setting Undertaker vs. Punk for the title at the Bash.
Cody Rhodes and Christian continue their feud over the Intercontinental Championship, with a rematch being set for the Great American Bash. Bryan Danielson finds himself in a feud with a returning Sheamus, who has adopted a Private Eye gimmick. The feud with Danielson comes about from Sheamus investigating Danielson and Melina's child. Vince McMahon is slated to be in action at The Bash as well, taking on the debuting Sin Cara, proclaimed to be the savior of Smackdown.
The Miz is the new Hardcore Champion after defeating Tyler Reks on the King of the Ring go-home show. Derrick Bateman is set up as the new challenger, with Kaitlyn siding with Bateman, Reks having been put out of action following the match with The Miz. At the same time, Miz has been engaged in a war of words with COO Triple H, escalated by Miz assaulting Reks after their match. Triple H is slated to be the guest referee for the Hardcore Championship match at The Bash. Arion feuds with Mark Henry, losing nearly every match, but refusing to stay down. Finally, a hardcore match is announced for the Great American Bash.
Dolph Ziggler and Charlie Haas earn a shot at the World Tag Team Championship, by defeating Alberto Del Rio y Ricardo Rodriguez in a contenders match. The Latin Kings renew their hostilities with Del Rio y Rodriguez, leading Teddy Long to announce a Street Fight between the two teams at The Great American Bash.
NXT
The South Beach Connection were victorious over Natalya and Chris Jericho when Jericho abandoned Natalya. After the match, Jericho put Nattie in the Walls of Jericho, reinjuring her neck. Richie Steamboat confronts Jericho over this, leading to a match on the NXT before The Great American Bash. Elsewhere, Mr. Harris picks up a win over The Big Show to end their feud. The crowd starts to rally behind Harris, who starts a new feud with Brett DiBiase, the biggest(but not the only) critic of GM Michael Cole.
Johnny Curtis chases the United States Championship, with Jack Swagger being placed as a road block before Curtis can challenge Trent Barreta. Barreta does defeat Steamboat in a rematch, thanks to Jericho's interference. Zack Ryder vies for the attention of Gail Kim, putting him in a feud with Colt Cabana. Xavier Woods battles The Big Show in an effort to gain the respect of the much larger athlete.
In the women's division, LayCool continue to hide behind Raquel Guerrero, who takes many a beating. It's Stephanie McMahon and Isis who finally step in, when Raquel's mother Vickie refuses to interfere. Isis challenges Layla for the Women's Championship on the NXT before The Bash. In the meantime, AJ Lee begins feuding with Maryse, who as usual, is backed by Kharma. And Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim feud in a strange extension of the Ryder/Cabana rivalry. And Eve Torres defeats Brie Bella to end their feud that spun off of the Ryder/Swagger feud.
With Vladimir Kozlov kicked out of Nexus after losing to Johnny Curtis(and subsequently released altogether), The South Beach Connection stand as the only regular team left on NXT.
The Great American Bash The Latin Kings def. Alberto Del Rio y Ricardo Rodriguez in a street fight Christian def. Cody Rhodes by disqualification(Cody hits Christian with the Intercontinental Championship in front of the referee) Arion def. Mark Henry in a hardcore match Chris Masters and David Hart def. Dolph Ziggler and Charlie Haas to retain the World Tag Team Championship Bryan Danielson def. Sheamus Derrick Bateman def. The Miz to win the Hardcore Championship(Triple H remained impartial, but after the match, Miz laid him out with the Skull Crushing Finale) Sin Cara def. Mr. McMahon(McMahon's last match, as he's declared no longer fit to wrestle) CM Punk def. The Undertaker to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship(Jinder Mahal attacked Undertaker when the referee was knocked out, allowing Punk to steal the victory)

See, I always liked the little rivalry between Smackdown's two Hispanic teams and wish they'd had an all-out feud. I also thought Sheamus' gimmick could've gone further, though that was more due to the guy behind it disappearing.
Also, NXT gets a new lease on life here. Although most of the angles I'm doing still happened in the Championship Challenge Series, this time they get to exist without a tournament backdrop. Better or worse? Time will tell.

Raw
Raw's second place battle royal finish earns them the Tag Team Championship match at No Mercy. Jerry Lawler sets up qualifiers for a Fatal Four-Way match. John Cena and Goldust defeat The Legacy, The Usos defeat The Smooth Criminals, and the odd pairing of Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, ordered to team by Jerry Lawler, beat The Fighters of Honor to claim the spots.

November
New WWE Champion Goldust is confronted by former Champion CM Punk, who announces that he got himself traded from NXT to Raw. Punk demands a fair one on one title shot, but COO Triple H intercedes. When Goldust appears on Smackdown, his brother, Cody Rhodes, is happy to see him, but The Miz is quick to challenge the Champ, only for Triple H to again step in. On NXT, Brett DiBiase demands the title shot he earned at SummerSlam, but Mr. Harris also feels he deserves a shot. After a couple of weeks of campaigning, Triple H addresses the subject, announcing an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. On the final Smackdown before the PPV, Cody attacks his brother and reveals himself to have been behind the attack on Goldust last month.
Raw
Drew McIntyre defeats Randy Orton on the Raw prior to Badd Blood. With Orton now seeking revenge, it's announced that the two will captain teams for Raw's Traditional Survivor Series match.

In the Women's Division, Isis and Raquel Guerrero team up to defeat LayCool. The loss is enough to drive a wedge between Layla and McCool, and a feud seems imminent.
