September, part 1Fall Brawl is announced as the next NBC Special. At this event, there will be a one night tournament to decide the number one contender for the WWE Championship at No Mercy. Since Bryan Danielson is still WWE Champion, Raw will only receive two spots in the tournament. Yes, Danielson’s on Raw. Not like I’ve done a damn thing to remind people of that, but there ya go. And yes, this was a total surprise to me when I looked it up. RawWith Steamboat now out of action, Cena sets his sights on the gold, qualifying for the tournament by defeating Santino Marella. Meanwhile, Sakamoto defeats Kevin Nash to earn the second spot. SmackdownKofi Kingston earns the first Smackdown spot in the tournament with a victory over CM Punk. Ted DiBiase earns the second spot by defeating Sheamus. And Jinder Mahal prevails over long-time rival Randy Orton to earn the final available spot. NXTCharlie Haas, coming off losing the Hardcore Championship at SummerSlam, qualifies for the tournament with a victory over Damien Sandow, coming off a loss to Jack Swagger on the go-home show. Speaking of Swagger, he earns the second spot in the tournament with a win over a clearly Scarface-inspired Alberto Del Rio. The final spot goes to Drew McIntyre, who defeats Christian(who totally isn’t wrestling down in Florida at this time… ). Fall BrawlTed DiBiase def. Drew McIntyre(First Round Match) John Cena def. Kofi Kingston(First Round Match) Cody Rhodes comes down to the ring in between rounds and challenges Morrison to a rematch at No Mercy, this time in a Falls-Count-Anywhere Match. September, part 2
Raw
John Cena is furious that his WWE Championship aspirations were taken away at the very last second. He was THAT CLOSE. But no matter. The CenaVerse will press on. Sakamoto, unimpressed by Cena’s attitude and behavior, challenges Cena to a match at No Mercy. Things are complicated, however, by AJ Lee, who wants revenge for Richie, and agrees to manage Sakamoto for one night only to gain that revenge.
Wade Barrett is still United States Champion after SummerSlam. We’ll get back to him…
On the SummerSlam go-home show, Justin Gabriel captured the Cruiserweight Championship from Tyler Black. After the match, Heath Slater jumped his former partner and laid him out with a guitar. As a result, Raquel Guerrero books a Guitar on a Pole match for the title at No Mercy.
As for Black, a run-in with Barrett turns him face and sets up Raw’s third match for No Mercy.
However, there is one more match for the red brand. Beth Phoenix, who never got her one-on-one rematch for the Women’s Championship, challenges Natalya, who finished off Triple B at SummerSlam. Once again, though, there are complications, in the form of Kaitlyn, Beth’s bestie and the object of affection for the Television Champion. More on that when I get to NXT…
Smackdown
For what feels like the first time in ages, Smackdown does not have a WWE Championship match at the next PPV. Instead, the time that would’ve gone to that is spent on building to the Rhodes/Morrison rematch. JoMo defeats Erick Rowan in this time, but is still out-numbered heading into his Falls-Count-Anywhere encounter with Cody…
Because the Intercontinental and Pure Champions are preoccupied with one another, this opens the door for other Smackdown stars to step up into a prominent position. As it turns out, the issue between DiBiase and Kingston was unresolved before SummerSlam(Kingston cheated his way to a win, for those who care), while Mahal and Orton renew their hostilities following the tournament qualifier. This leads to Teddy Long booking a fatal 4-way for No Mercy, with the winner earning a Championship match of their choosing.
And, as alluded to above, Dolph Ziggler and Peter Orlov continue their feud. This time, Orlove challenges for Ziggler’s Pure Championship, by virtue of beating Ziggler at SummerSlam.
The Kings of Wrestling face their first serious challenge from Chris Jericho and Sin Cara, the latter hellbent on winning his first Championship at No Mercy.
NXT
Charlie Haas has shot up the card, going from the Hardcore division to the main event in a month’s time. Bryan Danielson, having reigned as WWE Champion since WrestleMania, looks to have his work cut out for him at No Mercy.
Drew McIntyre, pissed off that even after he vanquished Low Ki from the WWE, he still hasn’t gotten any respect, picks a fight with Jack Swagger, igniting a war for No Mercy.
Darren Young is now one of the most hated men in the WWE following his heinous actions at SummerSlam. And he’s also mucking up the Women’s Championship match for No Mercy. Kaitlyn, caught between her best friend and her boyfriend, is assigned to referee the Women’s Championship match, a role Young himself volunteers her for. As for Mr. Young, he is slated to defend his Television Championship at No Mercy, taking on both members of the J-Pop Revolution in a Triple Threat.
Meanwhile, new Hardcore Champion Jayson The Grimm, with his goth chick entourage of Naomi and Cameron, is challenged by his old rival Damien Sandow, the man who essentially inspired this change in attitude for Grimm. A match is set for No Mercy.
No Mercy Natalya def. Beth Phoenix to retain the Women’s Championship(Darren Young tripped up Beth when Kaitlyn was distracted, allowing Natalya to hit Nattie By Nature for the win. Afterwards, Natalya demanded Kaitlyn raise her hand, but when she didn’t, Nattie attacked her. Young made no effort to help his girlfriend…) The Saviors of the Universe def. The Kings of Wrestling to win the World Tag Team Championship Dolph Ziggler def. Peter Orlov to retain the Pure Championship Sakamoto def. John Cena(Sakamoto won with a roll-up, thanks to a distraction from AJ. After the match, The CenaVerse beat Sakamoto down) Darren Young def. Mason Ryan and G-$hadow to retain the Television Championship(after the match, Beth Phoenix confronted Young. When he went to hit her, Beth blocked the slap and planted him with the Glam Slam) Ted DiBiase def. Jinder Mahal, Randy Orton, and Kofi Kingston to earn a future Championship match Wade Barrett def. Tyler Black to retain the United States Championship Jayson The Grimm def. Damien Sandow to retain the Hardcore Championship Cody Rhodes def. John Morrison in a Falls-Count-Anywhere Match Jack Swagger def. Drew McIntyre Heath Slater def. Justin Gabriel in a Guitar on a Pole Match to win the Cruiserweight Championship Charlie Haas def. OctoberFinally, a month I don’t have to split in two… RawWith Raw not having a PPV presence until Survivor Series, angles are allowed to simmer for a month, and some new faces begin to pop up, while some familiar ones get a facelift… In the midst of a rivalry with Sakamoto, John Cena begins to bicker with Big Show, the man he hired as Eve’s bodyguard. While Show doesn’t leave The CenaVerse, it’s clear that he’s not willing to sit back and let Cena hog the spotlight, either. Wade Barrett continues to rampage through the midcard, as nobody has yet been able to put a dent in his armor. However, a newcomer by the name of Luke Harper just may be the man for the job… Elsewhere, The Great Khali reinvents himself as Professor T.G. Khali, a bumbling scientist of sorts. As you might expect, he feuds with Kevin Nash. Bryan Danielson’s return to Raw(yes, he’s on the show. I know, I’m shocked too!) is marred by The Miz, because of course it is. Miz acts obnoxiously towards Danielson and his appropriately beaten up for it. Justin Gabriel looks to regain his lost Cruiserweight Championship from his former friend Heath Slater. Former friend, because Heath hit him with a guitar. That’s usually a good way to ruin a friendship… Trent Barreta emerges as a force to be reckoned with, after spending most of the year… not being a force to be reckoned with. Portraying a cocky heel, Barreta ends up at odds with Tyler Black, because he doesn’t have a feud yet. In the tag team division, the Kings of Wrestling pretty much go back to business as usual, while the Latin Kings and Skip Sheffield and Titus continue their long-running feud. Tamina is yet another person to reinvent herself, redebuting as aspiring country superstar Tammy Nina, along with her manager, well-noted talent scout… Vickie Guerrero. How did she get from NXT to Raw? Don’t worry about it. Raquel Guerrero also steps down as Raw GM. In her place, Diamond Dallas Page is installed to helm the brand. SmackdownCody Rhodes and John Morrison now each hold a win over the other. Cody still has Trish, however. Morrison demands he return her to him safely, Trish claims she’s not an object… then agrees to let the two fight over her freedom on the No Mercy go-home show. Yay feminism… Ted DiBiase has a guaranteed title shot, but before he can worry about that. He must deal with Kofi Kingston, ever persistent in establishing himself as a threat. And seeing how he beat DiBiase one on one, he may have a point there… Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton continue their feud, even though by now, I doubt either even remembers why they hate the other one. CM Punk complains about the lack of competition… enter The Beast. Brock Lesnar returns to the WWE and makes Punk his first target, but surprisingly, by the end of the month, Brock still has yet to step in the ring for an official match. Dolph Ziggler and Peter Orlov continue to feud over both Smackdown Championships. Orlov pins Ziggler in a tag team match, putting the two even… Yoshi Tatsu emerges as Smackdown’s Ambassador of Fun. Hunico targets him, on behalf of Mahal, who would do so himself, were he not busy elsewhere. Sheamus and Zack Ryder both reemerge as contenders on Smackdown, so they feud. Because of course they do. Johnny Curtis goes back to telling stories, while Byron Saxton starts winning matches again. In the tag division, not much happens. 3 Live Kru are there, and promos start airing for a team called The All American Heroes. In the women’s division, Brie Bella returns and announces her retirement, so that she can become a manager. After an “grueling” competition, Alicia Fox “earns” the right to be managed by Brie, at the expense of Rosa Mendes, who gets Nikki Bella to manage her, sparking the Twin Wars of 2012. NXTCharlie Haas is the proud new WWE Champion. Drew McIntyre, seeking a title shot, immediately challenges Haas, leading The Rat King to sanction the match for Over The Limit. Big E Langston debuts on NXT and it’s clear that he’s basically batshit insane. As such, it’s only natural that he would feud with Alberto Del Rio… What? I wasn’t gonna put him a title match right away. Even though I already did that with Luke Harper… Evan Bourne, in an attempt to remind people that he’s still around, challenges Jayson The Grimm for Over The Limit. Damien Sandow and Jack Swagger pair off again, because why not? Kenneth Cameron debuts and feuds with Christian, looking to establish himself against a proven talent. The J-Pop Revolution earn a title shot at Over The Limit, providing The Saviors of the Universe with their first challengers. In the women’s division, Darren Young challenges Beth Phoenix. Wait, what? OK, work with me here. Beth and Kaitlyn have basically been NXT Divas since the summer, and we did do DY vs. Beth IRL. So might as well do it here, since I have nobody else for him to face. As for the actual Women’s Championship, Naomi and Cameron get to challenge Natalya in a triple threat match that totally won’t be a handicap match because the two challengers just so happen to be aligned… Over The LimitBig E Langston def. Alberto Del Rio(Langston makes the referee count to five when making the pin) Jayson The Grimm def. Evan Bourne to retain the Hardcore Championship The Saviors of the Universe def. The J-Pop Revolution to retain the World Tag Team Championship Women’s Championship: Natalya def. Naomi and Cameron to retain the Women’s Championship Jack Swagger def. Damien Sandow Darren Young def. Beth Phoenix to retain the Television Championship(Kaitlyn was ringside and forced to choose a side. Reluctantly, she hit Beth with a chair, allowing Young to pick up the win) Kenneth Cameron def. Christian Charlie Haas def. Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship

November, part one
So this is gonna be… interesting. I’ve started piecing together a Survivor Series card, but as I hinted at above, Raw is so damn top-heavy, that I’m having trouble deciding who gets left off the card. As such, I’m breaking my own rules with the NBC specials, but Clash of the Champions is going to take on more of a Night of Champions feel, with the brand specific titles being defended.
Raw
Luke Harper demolishes everyone put in front of him, en route to his first title shot, facing Wade Barrett for the United States Championship at Clash of the Champions.
In the Cruiserweight division, Justin Gabriel invokes his rematch clause, setting the stage for another showdown with Heath Slater.
Smackdown
Ted DiBiase chooses to use his title shot to challenge both Peter Orlov and Dolph Ziggler. Teddy Long announces the three will compete in a two falls match, the first fall being for the Intercontinental Championship, the second for the Pure Championship.
NXT
The Rat King orders a battle royal to determine the number one contender for the Television Championship. Jack Swagger is victorious, setting him on a collision course with Darren Young at Clash of the Champions.
In the Hardcore Division, Mason Ryan defeats his own partner, G-$hadow, to earn a shot at Jayson The Grimm.
Clash of the Champions Justin Gabriel def. Heath Slater by disqualification, after Slater smashes another guitar over Gabriel’s head. Darren Young def. Gave it a read. Enjoying this fantasy booking so far.
Sometimes its tough when characters are picked up and dropped to try to justify in your head their sudden success/failure but this is a cool way to combine all our angles and stories together into a cohesive show (and making it feel like all angles/ideas/pushes were planned months in advance).
