William Regal vs. Charlie Haas vs. John Morrison vs. Sebastian Slater in a 4 corners elimination match
-- Mystery Opponent/Replacement for Injured Superstar(Triple H) vs
Kung Fu Naki vs. Colt Cabana vs Mr. Kennedy in a 4 corners elimination match
-- Mystery Opponent/Replacement for Injured Superstar (
Yoshi Tatsu) vs. John Cena vs Miz vs Mr. Braddock in a 4 corners elimination match
My thoughts... One relatively to mostly active (and taken) wrestler in each match. Prior to adding the last superstar. Triple H helped to add credibility to the winner of that match. Who knew the match would go to an untaken superstar.
Had some options with the last one... throw in a guy that had been out a while, and make his return, or debut a new superstar. Thought this the perfect opprotunity to bring in a guy and not make him look bad if he lost his first match. Never dreamed the other would happen.
Thought everything was going to be cut and dry. Not the case.
Following PPV...
Her Majesty’s Championship
Fatal Four Way Elimination
CM Punk vs. Kung Fu Naki vs. Yoshi Tatsu vs. William Regal
2 active taken members, 1 untaken, 1 taken but only promo'd for during the PPV(which was not posted before the match, I take responsibility for that).
First person eliminated... The untaken Kung Fu Naki... alright... good to see people no longer voting for untaken people for champ.
Next Elimination... William Regal...
Bit unexpected, as he was pretty active, but he was the previous the previous title holder and biggest threat(at least in my mind) to the current champion.
Down to CM Punk vs Yoshi Tatsu(An every week promo'er vs a guy who just debuted and had one ill placed promo).
Punk was up 3 votes to none... even the guy who owned Tatsu voted for punk... then... 4 straight Tatsu votes... making him a 2-0 United States/Her Majesty's Champ in only his first two days in action...
From being used as a filler wrestler in a match to winning the championship... Needless to say, I hadnt planned for that scenario
